As a hair restoration surgeon, I’ve always been interested in the healing potential of plants to benefit the health of our hair follicles. In my line of work with patients who suffer from hair loss, I knew, deep down that, it would be possible to harness the therapeutic capabilities of botanicals to improve the way our follicles function.

After years of researching and studying the phytochemical properties of various different plants, I made the decision to design a formulation that could actually help men and women experience the changes in their hair that they most wanted.

Due to the results…

As humans, our brains are wired to process information through the constructs of the categories we’ve learned. We like to put information and concepts neatly into boxes. However, in reality, life and nature are filled with variations of all types.

We tend to overlook unfamiliar details. And we prefer seeing world through neat, convenient categories which help us navigate information quickly and easily. But there are limits, especially when we have to find answers for more complicated and unusual questions and problems that we have to solve. …

As the developer of hair transplant technology (i.e. Dr.UGraft ™) which can safely harvest any type of hair, I’ve often been asked if pubic hair can be an option for placement in various areas of the body. The answer, of course, is yes. And surprisingly, one of the regions that has been requested is the lash line. Public hair can be repurposed as new forms of eyelashes. The procedure that we offer specifically for this purpose is the Vee-Lashe ™ eyelash transplant.

Humans have placed special emphasis on beautifying the eyelashes since ancient times. The early Egyptians and Romans used…

Have you ever had the experience of stepping back to recall some chapter in your life (i.e. in terms of what you’ve done, accomplished or been through) and discovering broader universal insights? With this in mind, one of the ways you can really start to feel a genuine sense of appreciation for your own journey is by seeking and growing from the inherent lessons within them.

Recently, the discoveries and insights of my colleagues and I were published…

As a hair transplant surgeon and a content creator, I not only try to inform, educate and empower those who are considering a hair loss procedure but on a much broader scale my hope is to encourage readers/viewers to engage in thinking processes beyond what is already familiar or comfortable to them. Much like traveling to a new destination, city, state or country, the experience, in terms of what we learn and become by it, is worth it in the end. …

Place more value on your own questions and insights

For those of you who have ever thought seriously about undergoing a hair transplant procedure, you’ve probably realized that the newly inserted hair follicles which provide your renewed coverage, must come from your own scalp. But, have you ever wondered exactly what region they are extracted from?

If you are suffering from androgenic hair loss, you may already realize that the issues of thinning and balding are the result of hair follicles which are miniaturizing due to a compound in your blood called DHT. …

Recently, my office at the Dr. U Hair and Skin Clinic in Los Angeles published posts on social media about the subject of pubic hair eyelash transplantation. Yes, I am serious. This is indeed an actual cosmetic procedure where we transplant pubic hair follicles into the lash line. Since we’ve developed the technology to safely remove any type of hair, we let our patients choose from areas like the nape, legs, arms, armpits and the pubic area. And they love being able to do this, even if their selection is extremely unconventional. One may start to wonder why this is…
